Admission Criteria

Who is eligible to apply?

In order to be considered for admission as a visiting student, the applicant must:

1. be enrolled in an Undergraduate Programme at an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and have completed at least One year of study as a full-time student;
2. have successfully completed their FA/FSc/ICS/ICOM/A` Level/High School Diploma, IB or equivalent qualification with the minimum required performance level as follows:
   • Matric (with at least 70% marks) & FA (65% marks or above)/FSc/ICS/ICOM (70% marks or above);
   • O Levels results (in at least ¹8 subjects) with an average grade of at least ‘B’ in all subjects attempted and A-Level (in at least three full-credit A-Level subjects) with an ²average of 2 Bs & 1 C grade across best three subjects. The three best subjects cannot include any Advanced Subsidiary subjects, the A Level General Paper, or an A-Level grade less than an E;
   • American High School Diploma (at least 70% marks or above/ Grade point average of B or above);
   • International Baccalaureate (at least 28 out of 45 points);
   • Combinations of the above
   • Any other equivalent qualification. In this case, the minimum acceptable grades will be determined by the Admissions Committee. The decision of the Admissions Committee will be final.
3. have completed prerequisite course (s) at Undergraduate level (s) that is comparable to the LUMS’ standard. Applicants are selected for admission after evaluation of the following factors:
   • the number and nature of courses taken;
   • grades obtained;
   • quality of prior institutions attended;
   • submission of a completed application form with all required supporting documents.

How many credit hours can one take?

Visiting Students can take up to a maximum of thirty-four (34) credit hours in the BA/BS/BSc (Honours) Programme at LUMS in a lifetime and can enroll in a maximum of two regular, consecutive semesters.

How to Apply?

The admission application will be considered for evaluation after the successful completion of the following Three (3) STEPS by the applicants on or before the stipulated deadlines:

• Online Admission Application submission;
• Online submission of scanned copies of required supporting documents; and
• Submission of an appropriate Application Processing Fee.

Note:

• Applicants must complete and submit their Online admission application on or before Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 05:00 PM (PKT)
• Applicants are required to upload, the scanned copies of all supporting documents on or before Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PKT)
• After the successful submission of the Online application, applicants must make the Processing Fee payment by the due date Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PKT)
• The tentative list of courses available for visiting applicants will be accessible within the online application form. Please note that course availability is subject to change based on departmental approval and enrollment capacities. Applicants are advised to review the list carefully during the application process and select courses accordingly.

Completion of all steps is mandatory. Application, documents, or fees received after the stipulated deadline will not be processed. The list of courses will be available in the online application.
