Fee Structure

The course audit fee for FY 2023-24 is as follows.

  1. The course audit fee for internal students is 20% of the course fee based on the per credit hour rate.
  2. The course audit fee for external students is 30% of the course fee based on the per credit hour rate.
  3. The per credit hour rate is Rs. 32,830/- for FY 2023-24

ADMISSION TEST FOR SDSB, MGSHSS & SAHSOL

ADMISSION TEST FOR SDSB & MGSHSS

The SAT (with Essay) OR ACT (with Essay) is mandatory for all applicants applying to the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) and Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities & Social Sciences (MGSHSS) & . The Essay Component of the SAT or ACT will be required for LUMS application.

ADMISSION TEST FOR SAHSOL 

Applicants applying to the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) are required to take the following two (2) admission tests in order to be considered for admission:

  • SAT (with Essay) OR ACT (with Essay); and
  • LAW Admission Test (LAT)

Note:

  • LUMS will only accept scores of the SAT (with Essay) or ACT (with Essay) for Fall 2020 applications.
  • SAT (with Essay) taken after March 2020 will not be considered for Fall 2020 applications.
  • SAT (with Essay) taken before March 2018 will not be considered for Fall 2020 applications.
  • ACT (with Essay) taken after April 04, 2020 will not be considered for Fall 2020 applications.

  • Applicants are required to report test scores of all attempts through an online application and must submit a copy of score report(s). Best score of a single attempt will be considered for application evaluation.
  • In order for your application to be considered complete and for LUMS to make an admissions decision, have your official test scores submitted directly to LUMS by the testing agency (ETS) on your behalf. The college code for reporting SAT scores to LUMS is 0513.
  • Applicants are required to submit score(s) of the SAT (with Essay)/ACT (with Essay) to the LUMS Admissions Office soon after the announcement of result. The copy of student report should also be sent along with all other supporting documents.

ADMISSION TEST FOR SBASSE

Applicants applying to the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) are required to take the following two (2) admission tests in order to be considered for admission:

I. SAT (with Essay) OR ACT (with Essay) ; and

II. LUMS SBASSE Subject Test OR SAT Subject Test (SAT II) in at least 3 of the 4 SAT II subjects listed below:

  • Biology-M
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics II-C
  • Physics

II. LUMS SBASSE Subject Test/ SAT Subject Test (SAT II)

LUMS SBASSE Subject Test

In addition to SAT (with Essay) or ACT(with Essay), subject knowledge in the area of Biology, Physics, Advanced Mathematics & Chemistry will also be evaluated through this test. Questions are designed to explore the knowledge and skills acquired over a period of time. The test is designed to compare candidates with different academic backgrounds.

Difficulty Level: Admission Test is designed to determine the intellectual abilities of test takers. Questions will be at a difficulty level appropriate for students in the final year of A’ Levels/FSc./IB/HSD. They are typically Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), similar to the pattern used in SAT. LUMS SBASSE Subject Test is approximately two (2) hours long. Test takers need to attempt only three(3) of the four(4) sections of the admission test. Calculators are not allowed during Admission Test.

LUMS reserves the right to use any test pattern that best meets its admission’s objectives. Instead of preparing for the test, we recommend getting a deep knowledge of fundamental principles and focusing on a good understanding of your school subjects.

Note: The deadline to register for the LUMS SBASSE Subject Test is January 30, 2020; 5:00 pm (PST) and the deadline to submit the supporting documents for this test is January 31, 2020.

The LUMS SBASSE Subject Test for the Fall & Spring semesters 2020-21 will be conducted on February 16, 2020. If you have not taken LUMS SBASSE Subject Test, you may alternatively provide your SAT II scores (in at least 3 SAT II subjects listed above).

Applicants who have taken LUMS SBASSE Admission Test and also have taken (or are planning to take) the SAT II Subject tests are encouraged to submit a copy of their SAT score reports as part of their admission application. The copy of the scores should be sent along with all other supporting documents and reported directly from College Board (College code for reporting SAT scores for LUMS is 0513). For SDSB/MGSHSS/SAHSOL

To apply for transfer to the Undergraduate Programme, the candidate must:

  1. be enrolled and have successfully completed or should expect to complete at least one year of full time study at the Undergraduate level from a college or university recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan before joining LUMS;
  2. submit a bona fide letter from a college or university where he/she is currently enrolled at Undergraduate level;
  3. successfully completed any set of the following academic qualifications:
    • Matric (with at least 70% marks) & FA (with at least 65% marks) /FSc/ICS/ICOM (with at least 70% marks)
    • O’ Levels results (in at least 18 subjects) with an average grade of at least ‘B’ in all subjects attempted; and A’ Levels (in at least three (3) full credit A Levels subjects) with an 2average of 2 Bs and 1 C grade across best three subjects such as there should be no grade less than an E. No credit will be given for Advanced Subsidiary subject(s), for the A Level General Paper, or for an A Level grade less than an E;
    • American High School Diploma (at least 70% marks or above/ Grade point average of B or above)
    • International Baccalaureate (at least 28 out of 45 points)
    • Combinations of the above
    • Any other equivalent qualification (minimum acceptable scores will be determined by the Admissions Committee. The decision of the Admissions Committee will be final).

Note: Applicants admitted to LUMS and subsequently require HEC attestation of their UG degree must meet the conditions stipulated by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan to get their Undergraduate degree attested. Details are available at the following link:

For SBASSE

To apply for transfer to the Undergraduate Programme, the candidate must:

No credit will be given for Advanced Subsidiary and General Paper.
    • American High School Diploma (at least 70% marks or above/ Grade point average of B or above)
    • International Baccalaureate (at least 28 out of 45 points)
    • Combinations of the above

TRANSFER CREDIT INFORMATION

The Admissions Committee will decide on the maximum number of transferable credits on the basis of the information (Course outlines, Transcripts) provided by the applicant. The possible transferable credits depend on the standing of the institution where the candidate is transferring from, the nature of completed courses and obtained grades. Information about the maximum number of possible transferable courses/credits will be communicated to the candidates at the time of making admission offer. Credit will be given for a maximum of 30 semester credits for each year of full time study at the undergraduate level completed at a college/university. The maximum possible transferable credit hours are 60.

The detailed information regarding the transferred courses will be shared by the Registrar’s Office after the completion of credit transfer evaluation process subsequent to accepting an Admission Offer. Only undergraduate courses successfully completed with a ‘B’ or better grade can potentially be transferred. The credits of these courses will be included in the completed credits whereas the course grades will not be included in the CGPA calculation at LUMS. Any decision on the transfer of credits for the courses completed at the Undergraduate level by the applicant will be taken after the evaluation of the courses by the instructors at LUMS. Applicants may be called for an interview/test before making a final decision.

Overview

LUMS accepts auditing students for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.

Important Information for Course Audit Applicants

Individuals who wish to audit a course at LUMS are classified as non-degree seeking students. Enrolment in a course as an auditing student is on a non-credit basis and no grade will be issued for the course. An auditing student may take one or more courses. Moreover, audited courses do not appear on the transcript and there is no separate university certificate for an audited course. Also, there is no fee refund for audit courses. Auditing a course does not merit availing any university facility and auditing students will not be provided hostel accommodation.

Applicants should complete and submit the application to the LUMS Admissions Office on or before the application submission deadline. All applicants who have successfully completed FA/FSc/A' Levels/American High School Diploma/International Baccalaureate or an equivalent programme of at least 12 years leading to a certificate are eligible for admission.

How to Apply?

The admission application will be considered for evaluation after the successful completion of the following Three (3) STEPS by the applicants on or before the stipulated deadlines:

  • Online Admission Application submission;
  • Online submission of scanned copies of required supporting documents; and
  • Submission of an appropriate Application Processing Fee.

Note:

  • Applicants must complete and submit their Online admission application on or before August 22, 2023; 5:00 PM (PKT).
  • Applicants are required to upload, the scanned copies of all supporting documents on or before August 22, 2023.
  • After the successful submission of the Online application, applicants must make the Processing Fee payment by the deadline.

Completion of all steps is mandatory. Application, documents, or fee received after the stipulated deadline will not be processed.
